2014 TMA Conference

The 2014 location was announced at last night’s conference – it’s going to be Reno! Mo & I will be attending this conference, you should join us!!! These conferences are an amazing opportunity to speak with other myositis patients and the nation’s TOP doctors for myositis!

September 4-7, 2014 at the Peppermill Resort (click here). TMA room rates are just $85 and are good for extended stay! This is the same weekend as the Reno Balloon Festival (click here) – so we’re likely to see some beautiful balloons while we’re there!

Reno is great news for us already in the West – flights are short and usually cheap.

We highly recommend the more discounted airlines like Southwest (click here) although United, Delta, or US Airways will get you there too. Unfortunately most airlines are only booking through June 2014 so we can’t tell you how much flights cost yet . Keep your eyes out for fare sales, Southwest sometimes puts Reno on sale $69/one way from Denver – so it’s very likely you can book your trip for under $150/person!!!

If you have frequent flyer miles with another airline that’s another great way to fly free/cheap. Double check your credit card rewards for air mile programs (we have a Disney Visa that allows cashback to be used for any airline tickets!)

ALSO!!! We wanted to let you know that conference admission and transportation (airfare) are deductible expenses for medical FSAs (flexible spending accounts)!!! Click here for info on how to deduct these expenses. Click here for IRS Publication 502. Our open enrollment period for Mo’s benefits is November, so it’s perfect timing to plan these extra expenses into our FSA.

We’re so excited! See you in Reno!!!
