Whole Foods – $99 pantry

Thanks to Jordan for her fabulous Health Starts Here presentation at our NMAD Picnic in the Park! Below is a video where she talks about stocking a healthier pantry, and the handout detailing what items to buy. Enjoy!

Here’s the 411 on what to put in your pantry:

For about $99 you can stock a healthier pantry! We have overestimated the cost of products – in your favor – but it’s always possible that things add up a little differently in your neck of the woods. Choose our 365 Everyday Value brand, Health Starts Here frozen items, an abundance of our affordable bulk option, and go organic when available!

These are you shelf basics. You’ll need to shop for some of them two or three times a month, depending on how many people you are cooking for. Then, once or twice a week, shop for more perishable basics and recipe ingredients: fresh and frozen fruits and veggies, 100% whole-grain breads, whole grain flatbreads and tortillas, lean meat and seafood, low-fat dairy, and Health Starts Here prepared foods and premade meals.
